Aloha Beach Camp provides many fun activities for boys, girls, kids and teens at our summer camp program in Hawaii.  Surfing is perhaps the most popular among the campers. We are always heartened to see that so many campers want to learn to surf!

When you really think about is, you can see why campers are so fired up about learning to surf.

Surfing is a safe, health, and fun activity, not to mention the sport was invented in Hawaii! And best of all, it takes place outdoors -- quite an appealing notion considering kids have been cooped up inside so long from COVID!

But how exactly does our surf camp work?

The Aloha Beach Camp Hawaii Surf Camp Program is a unique experience; a complete immersion in the Hawaiian Culture. Located on the beautiful island of Oahu, with surfing as its central focus, the camp will teach the fundamentals of surfing from a uniquely Hawaiian point of view at world-famous Waikiki Beach.

Welcoming kids between the ages of 7 to 16, campers will learn surfing technique and ocean-safety skills. Camp participants learn the basic techniques of riding waves, water safety, and the ocean environment.

Evening activities allow participants the special
opportunity to learn about Polynesian culture and the ancient Hawaiian lifestyle which centered around the sea. Local Hawaiian surfers help teach the surfing, and well-known Hawaiian heritage specialists make guest appearances each evening to pass along their local lore.

Daily surf sessions are designed to build a strong foundation in the fundamentals of surfing and ocean science. Knowledgeable instructors team up in small peer groups that are age and skill appropriate. Lessons are then customized and specific to each group’s needs.

A maximum of four
camper participants per instructor ensures consistency, familiarity and a vast amount of individualized attention guaranteeing acceleration in confidence, fitness
and personal growth.

If your child wants to learn to surf this summer and is looking for an epic sleepaway summer camp experience unavailable anywhere else, discover Aloha Beach Camp Hawaii!

What if my Child has a Peanut Allergy? Can you Accommodate that at Camp?

3/3/2022

One of the common questions parents ask us about camp involves food. The first thing to note is that campers are provided three healthy meals per day, every day they're at camp.

But what about food allergies?

Camper with food allergies or other dietary restrictions are always accommodated. However, we wanted to specifically address peanut allergies here, because this seems to be one of the more common food allergies campers have.

In fact, we received an email from a parent today whose daughter has a serious peanut allergy. The allergy is so severe she can't eat food that is not processed in facilities shared with peanuts, or cooked in the same kitchen as peanuts, etc.

In this case, it's important to note we do not cook with peanuts for our campers and guests, however, we do have peanut products in the kitchen. As we have staff that live on site, they cook with peanut products. There are also some products that are processed in facilities that have peanuts in our kitchen.

So even though we do not serve peanut products for camp meals, in this particular camper's case she probably would not be a candidate to attend Aloha Beach Camp Hawaii, simply from a food safety standpoint.

If your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions you are concerned about, please let us know so we can walk you through the steps we'll take to keep your child healthy and safe.

Ever wanted to kayak with sea turtles? Now you can! Join us in Hawaii this summer for summer camp and hop on your very own kayak right in front of your cabin in our calm cove. The water is clear, warm and glassy so you can see everything! We kayak in the morning so there's limited wind and you can paddle your kayak easily. It's so much fun and an experience you'll remember forever. Campers tell us all the time ocean kayaking was their favorite activity at camp. Maybe you will do the same :)

Going to summer camp in and of itself is pretty fantastic. But summer camp in Hawaii takes the cake. There's so much to do during our 1, 2 or 3 week camp sessions, you'll wish you had more time. One of the newer activities we introduced last summer is Coconut Tasting. Campers can pick their own coconuts, drink the water and taste the meat. It's a blast!
